Ha muerto Richard Matheson, el novelista de 'Soy leyenda', a la edad de 88 años. Este maestro del género fantástico seguramente pasará a la historia por ser el autor de la novela 'Soy leyenda' que ha sido adaptada al cine en tres ocasiones: ‘The Last Man on Earth’ (Ubaldo Ragona, 1964), ‘El último hombre… vivo’ (‘The Omega Man’, Boris Sagal, 1971), protagonizada por Charlton Heston, y ‘Soy leyenda’ (‘I Am Legend’, Francis Lawrence, 2007), protagonizada por Will Smith. Richard Matheson también escribió 16 capítulos para la mítica serie ‘Dimensión desconocida’ (‘The Twilight Zone’), creada por Rod Serling. Matheson también ha sido el guionista del clásico  ‘El increíble hombre menguante’ (‘The Incredible Shrinking Man’, Jack Arnold, 1957), ‘El diablo sobre ruedas’ (‘Duel’, Steven Spielberg, 1971),  ‘En algún lugar del tiempo’ (‘Somewhere in Time’, Jeannot Szwarc, 1980) y ‘En los límites de la realidad’ (‘Twilight Zone: The Movie’, John Landis, George Miller, Joe Dante, Steven Spielberg, 1983), por citar algunos títulos.
